Frequently Asked Questions

1. do I need to book in advance?

This is highly recommended! Our public guided tours only take place if the minimum number of 4 participants is reached. When this minimum is reached, online bookings are possible until almost the last minute.

2. where is the meeting point? Where does the tour end?

Unless otherwise agreed, we meet for all our Old Town tours (except the JGA tour) at Heumarkt 39 (please do not confuse this with Neumarkt!) in front of the kiosk directly between the train stop and “Ice Cream United”. For the JGA tour we meet directly at the cathedral in the Stapelhaus and for all tours in the Südstadt the meeting point is in the old city gate Severinstorburg at Chlodwigplatz. Tours usually end no more than a 10-minute walk from the meeting point. For private tours we can arrange individual meeting points. Just ask us!

3. how long does the tour take? How far is the walk?

Our regular public tours last 2.5 hours. Please inform your guide if you need to end the tour early. Private tours last at least 2 hours – but we can offer them in almost any length. Please select the desired option when booking the tour. The total length of the tour is about 1 km (10-15 minutes).

6. why are usually no drinks included?

We have made the experience that different groups drink different amounts and there are even people who do not drink beer at all 😮 In order to simplify the whole thing, give you more flexibility and offer you a cheaper tour, we have decided to offer the tours without inclusive drinks. We want to be transparent: We pay the same price for Kölsch in the breweries as any other guest. Due to the inclusive drinks, we would incur additional costs, for example, for accounting or payment fees at the time of booking. In order to offer the tour with 4 inclusive kölsch, we would have to offer it at a significantly higher price. Calculate with 2,50€ per Kölsch (including tip for the Köbes).

8. Will we visit a brewery on the tour?

Unfortunately, we cannot bring you to a brewery. Although some breweries offer tours, they are often booked up weeks or even months in advance. Instead, we’ll take you to charming brewpubs and traditional pubs where you can experience the authentic hospitality of our beer culture. Because that is the heart of beer enjoyment in Cologne! You can visit breweries all over the world, and they often look alike. But the places we show you often have a history as former breweries.

10. I am traveling alone, can i still join your tour?

You are welcome, our tours are a great opportunity to meet other travelers! Please note, however, that we have a minimum number of 3 guests per tour. It is extremely unlikely, but if there are no other bookings, the tour might not take place. In such a case, we will inform you in time and either give you the opportunity to join another tour or refund the booking in full.

11. how can I pay for my booking?

Online, through our booking portal you have the option to pay directly by credit card, instant bank transfer, iDeal or PayPal. For private tours you can also choose to pay by invoice and pay by bank transfer after receiving the invoice. For all other payment options please contact us!

We are currently changing our telephone provider, which is taking longer than planned, but of course you can still reach us:
